Rihanna Fans Accuse Kim Kardashian of Ripping Off Fenty Puma Fur Slides

The great fur slide controversy of 2017.

For every tweeted photo of fur slides, there is an equal and opposite reaction photo of other fur slides. That's just science. Thursday, Kim Kardashian showed off the latest TheKidsSupply and Akid collaboration. The collab, a pair of nude faux fur slides for kids, is perfect for when the majority of both feet are hot, but a pesky portion near the toes keeps catching a breeze. Right?

Immediately, Kardashian's tweet was hit with reminders that this does not mark the first time a slide has been adorned with fur or fur-like material. Specifically, some pointed out that the one and only Rihanna previously dropped a faux fur slide collab with Puma:

Of course, the Fenty x Puma faux fur slides are intended to be worn by adults. They're also much more attractive to the eye. However, as Teen Vogue and others have noted, these aren't the only fur slides in the world. Givenchy, Brother Vellies, Duckie Confetti, Dolce & Gabbana, and Loeffler Randall also have fur slides on the market. So, maybe this is merely a coincidence? I'll leave that distinction up to you.

Rihanna's recent Fenty x Puma Spring 2018 show at New York Fashion Week was truly something to behold. The surf and motocross-inspired collection was presented at the Park Avenue Armory by models Joan Smalls, Slick Woods, Adriana Lima, and more. One week ahead of the much-discussed NYFW show, Rihanna released her long-awaited Fenty Beauty line.

If you're in need of more Rihanna inspiration to get you through this grueling Friday, I recommend revisiting that whole Diplo "sounds like a reggae song at an airport" hilarity from last month.
