The Issa Rae-created series is set to return to Max with new episodes later this summer.

UPDATED 7/10, 9:45 p.m. ET: The wait is nearly over, and there's a teaser to prove it. Give it a look above.

Word has arrived that Season 2 of the Issa Rae-created Rap Sh!t premieres on Max on Aug. 10. According to Deadline, the first two episodes will released at once, followed by a new installment every week.

Rap Sh!t follows Shawna (Aida Osman) and Mia (KaMillion), two estranged high school friends from Miami, who reunite to form a rap group.

Rae is currently signed to a five-year overall deal with WBD, through her Hoorae label, worth a reported eight figures. This is her third pact with HBO.

Ahead of its return this summer on Max, we’re rolling out an exclusive look at the second season of Rap Sh!t starring Aida Osman, KaMillion, and Jonica Booth.

“We’re so excited to be back this summer!” showrunner Syreeta Singleton told Complex of the Issa Rae-created series’ second season. “Everything is heightened. The girls are on tour, tensions are high, and they’re quickly finding out how much they’re willing to compromise for success.”

Get an early glimpse at what Shawna, Mia, Chastity, and Francois are up to this season via a mini-selection of first-look photos below.

The first season of Rap Sh!t came to a close last September with a finale co-written by Singleton and Rae. That same month, Max announced the series had been renewed for a follow-up season. In a statement at the time, Sarah Aubrey, Max’s Head of Original Content, promised “even more seducing and scheming” in the show’s second year.

“We are so excited to continue this journey with Shawna and Mia and the incredibly fun world of Rap Sh!t,” Aubrey said.

Among those also working behind the scenes on the well-received series are Yung Miami and JT of City Girls, who are co-executive producers on the project.
