Days after the sudden death of hugely popular YouTube celebrity Caleb Logan Bratayley, his family has revealed that he suffered from an "undetected medical condition" and that the family had a prior history of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The heart condition, which is potentially fatal, causes the heart muscle to eventually become "abnormally thick."
Caleb, just 13 years old, died suddenly last week of what were initially described as simply "natural causes." The family shared the news alongside a photo of Caleb, asking for fans to remain patient with regards to updates:
"Tests have confirmed today that Caleb passed away from an undetected medical condition," the family told ABC News. "We'll have more definitive answers in the coming weeks but ask that you help us celebrate his life instead of focus on his death." In response to the overwhelming amount of support they've received from fans in the wake of Caleb's tragic passing, the family is now planning to livestream a memorial service so that fans can join the family in mourning:
