Pete Davidson Sentenced to Work at Retirement Center in 'The Home' Trailer From 'Purge' Creator

The 'SNL' alum returns to horror.

James DeMonaco, creator of The Purge, directs Pete Davidson in his latest push for horror greatness.

Titled The Home, the latest from DeMonaco, who previously directed the first three films in the Purge franchise, finds Davidson playing a man who’s sentenced to serve out his community service hours at a retirement home. As made clear to Davidson’s character, as well as to the audience at large in the new trailer, residents relegated to the fourth floor of the establishment are off-limits to him and others due other “special care” requirements.

Davidson is joined in the 97-minute horror thriller by John Glover and Bruce Altman. Catch the new trailer in full up top. The Home is joined in Davidson’s 2025 filmography by the animated Dog Man and the Amazon MGM-backed The Pickup, the latter of which finds the actor and comedian paired with fellow Saturday Night Live alum Eddie Murphy.

"When I set out to create The Home, I aimed to capture the spine-chilling eeriness of 70’s horror, where suspense simmers and ultimately erupts into glorious chaos,” DeMonaco said in press notes shared Thursday. “Joining me is my Staten Island brother, Pete Davidson, who unveils a darker, dramatic side as his character navigates a bizarre group of residents in an old age home."

Davidson has delved into the horror realm in the past. In 2022, he was part of a larger ensemble in Halina Reijn’s Bodies Bodies Bodies, currently available to rent on Apple TV and elsewhere.
