Paris Jackson on Perforated Septum Struggles: 'Don't Do Drugs, Kids'

"It's what you think it's from," the 27-year-old daughter of the late King of Pop told fans.

Paris Jackson is giving fans an intimate look at her struggles with having a perforated septum, a condition she attributes to past drug use.

The late Michael Jackson’s 27-year-old daughter, who’s sober these days, detailed the effects she’s experienced as a result of the condition in a video making the rounds on social media this week.

“I realized I have never actually addressed this, and it can sometimes be very noticeable,” Paris said in the clip, seen below. “I have a really loud whistle—if you go back two videos, you can hear it—when I breathe through my nose. That is because I have what is called a perforated septum, slightly different from a deviated septum. And that is, um, it’s what you think it’s from. Don’t do drugs, kids.”

The Wilted artist went on to back off of that suggestion, then revealed her reasoning behind declining to pursue surgery.

“Everyone’s gonna have the experience they need to have with life,” she said. “I’m not gonna tell anyone what to do, but I don’t recommend it because it ruined my life. I don’t want to get plastic surgery to fix this because I’m almost six years sober and you have to take pills when you do a surgery that gnarly and I don’t fuck with that. I’ve been living with this since I was about 20, and it’s a bitch when you’re in the studio comping vocals.”

Paris also gave fans a close-up view of her nostrils, as well as demonstrated the perforation-caused whistling in action.

It wasn’t immediately clear where, or when, the video was initially shared, but it has circulated on various fan-driven aggregation accounts in recent days.

Paris recently made headlines for her remarks on Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming King of Pop biopic Michael, the first trailer for which was released this month. According to Paris, her only involvement with the film, starring MJ’s nephew Jaafar in the title role, amounted to notes she provided after reading an early draft of the script.

“It’s fantasyland,” Paris said of the film in September. “It’s not real, but it’s sold to you as real.”
