Though many of us likely avoid using the restroom while on a flight for fear of turbulence-prompted accidents, this guy was so eager to unload his bladder and/or bowels that he mistook the plane's sealed exit for the restroom door and then tried to open it. Of course, if this occurred while the plane was still grounded, this would be a very different story. Instead, this guy tried to open the door while he and his fellow passengers were 30,000 feet in the air.

"The crew told me to stay in my seat and I was to be arrested when the plane landed," bathroom mistaker James Gray tells Mashable. "I tried to explain it was a simple mistake. It was a misunderstanding. The police came and arrested me. They weren't too friendly." As noted by the Twitterati upon news of Gray's incident, even if Gray had actually managed a more successful attempt at opening the door, the basic science of cabin pressure simply wouldn't allow it.

Gray, in addition to being arrested and fined $671, is now officially banned for five years from all KLM flights. As this particular flight landed at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam, let's all assume Gray found a quick and revelatory way to alleviate the embarrassment of almost defying science and emptying his bladder and/or bowels into the atmosphere while 30,000 feet in the air.
