Lupita Nyong'o recently helped 600 children in in Kisumu, Kenya catch a screening of Black Panther.

"I wanted kids from my hometown to see the positive images reflected in the film and superheroes that they can relate to on the big screen," Nyong'o said Wednesday. "No matter where you live, you can help make this happen for more children who can't afford to see the movie." Nyong'o also directed fans to help out with the #BlackPantherChallenge, which now includes an assortment of crowdfunding campaigns aimed at buying movie tickets for children who can't afford them.

In a video shared to Nyong'o's Instagram account Wednesday, students shared what they learned from Ryan Coogler's groundbreaking film. "I've learned that, being a leader, there are so many challenges you have to face," one student said. "But you should never give up." Nyong'o's participation in the inspiring #BlackPantherChallenge follows similar acts of awesomeness from Kamaiyah, Top Dawg Entertainment, and Serena Williams.

Wednesday, it was announced that Nyong'o had inked a deal to star in the upcoming Born a Crime. The movie, based on Daily Show host Trevor Noah's autobiographical book of the same name, will star Nyong'o as Patricia Noah. "When I read Trevor Noah's Born a Crime, I could not put the book down," Nyong'o said of the role. "Excited to announce that I will be starring in and producing its features film adaptation!" A release date has not been set.
