Spoiler alert: Parents are still just as inconsolably lame as ever. In fact, something called the Parents Television Council (PTC) is putting their lameness on full display by blasting Sunday's The Walking Dead premiere as a "powerful demonstration" of why family-minded individuals should have "greater control" over TV networks. That's, um, that's gonna be a no from me.

"Last night's season premiere of The Walking Dead was one of the most graphically violent shows we've ever seen on television, comparable to the most violent of programs found on premium cable networks," Tim Winter, president of the so-called "conservative watchdog group," told the Hollywood Reporter on Monday. "It's not enough to 'change the channel,' as some people like to advocate, because cable subscribers—regardless of whether they want AMC or watch its programming—are still forced to subsidize violent content."

Winter, who hasn't actually seen the episode, also proposed the possibility of introducing a new TV rating beyond The Walking Dead's usual TV-MA vibes. "When you look at definition of MA and what content of the show is, it's unquestionable they chose what best represented the content," Winter toldTHR. "This certainly raises question of if there should be an even more severe rating than TV-MA."

For those readers not into the concept of trusting the opinion of someone who HASN'T EVEN SEEN The Walking Dead's soul-crushing season 7 premiere, peep some Complex thoughts on the episode right here instead. Then dig up your old PARENTAL ADVISORY t-shirt from Forever 21, just to fuck with the PTC.
