Kit Harington Apologizes to 'Game of Thrones' Fans After Shocking Reveal

Jon Snow got the world shook once again.

Kit Harington has some explaining to do. However, before we allow Harington to do so, just know this: spoilers! Game of Thrones spoilers abound in the paragraphs ahead! As anyone who followed our live blog of Sunday's episode "Home" can attest, the fate of one Jon Snow has finally broken free from the constraints of fan theories and relentless teasing from the HBO family. Harington, in a quick catch-up with Entertainment Weekly, shared some decidedly humble thoughts on Snow’s big (predicted?) reveal.

"I'd like to say sorry for lying to everyone," Harington said of those mysteriously opened eyes. "I'm glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, 'Fine, Jon Snow's dead.' But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it." That grief, says Harington, shows that Thrones is indeed doing something right.

To properly highlight the seriousness with which Harington took his (well-acted) publicity requirements, let's randomly assess one of his many (so many) "Jon Snow is dead!" era interviews. "I'm not in the show anymore," Harington toldTime Out London in March, whilst delivering a very fine performance as a lying actor. "I'm definitely not in the new series." Compellingly enough, Harington used that same interview to brag about how playing a corpse was "some of my best work." Clever, Kit Harington. Almost as clever as that time the ghost of Jon Snow engaged in some tennis with Andy Samberg.

All is forgiven, Kit Harington. Also, huge props to Melisandre.
