Though no one really knows Barack Obama's post-presidency plans, that hasn't stopped everyone from presenting their own theories on what exactly the confirmed Ridley Scott fan will do once he no longer resides at 1600 Penn. During a campaign event in Iowa earlier this week, Hillary Clinton was noticeably compelled by a voter's suggestion that she appoint Obama to the Supreme Court upon moving (back into) the White House.
"Wow, what a great idea," Clinton responded, according to ABC News. "He may have a few other things to do but I tell you that's a great idea." Adding that she considered Obama "brilliant," Clinton praised the POTUS' track record by confirming he does in fact have "all the credentials." Of course, as noted by Hillary herself, securing this post-presidency spot for Obama would be greatly eased by locking down a Democratic Senate.
On Wednesday, Obama had a well-publicized meeting with Clinton's only true rival (sorry, Martin O'Malley) Bernie Sanders, though he has shied away from outright endorsing any one candidate. "I think he and the vice president have tried to be fair and even-handed in the process," Sanders told CNN shortly after the meeting, "and I expect they will continue to do that."
Even if Obama does land a nice Supreme Court spot under the Clinton administration, one can only hope such a task leaves ample time for additional rounds of golf with the young god Larry David.
