HBO Hears You Bashing on 'True Detective' Season Two, Says Final Episodes Are "Satisfying"

HBO definitely hears your tweeted critiques, but really thinks you should wait until the finale to call "hot or not."

Colin Farrell, as we already told you, is a genius. Though no one is really questioning that (how could they?), plenty of people are questioning shitting all over True Detective's second season — from compiling reasons why Vince Vaughn simply isn't built for cerebral cinematic experiences to concocting admittedly funny though still patently unfair fake missing person flyers:

Elsewhere, someone who we can confidently assume is also not a fan of True Detective's current batch imagined how Season One's Martin Hart (Woody Harrelson) might react to Farrell and the gang:

Though the pesky Court of Public Opinion seems to have delivered an unflattering verdict for the future of True Detective, others (including me!) are not so convinced. In fact, even HBOfinally stepped into the debate to offer some levelheaded words of encouragement. Speaking during a TCA presentation, HBO head Michael Lombardo suggested you simply wait for the payoff — just as you would with a movie, book, album or other longer work:

When asked about the future of the series, Lombardo seems confident that another season will happen — revealing that "the door is open" and that HBO would "love to do another season." While we wait, let's speculate with our usual mastery:
