'Fyre' Star Andy King Originally Wanted Oral Sex and Evian Story Removed

Now, King says, the infamous Evian/oral sex tale is helping him secure some big offers for TV and film.

Fyre highlight Andy King is riding a wave of adoration thanks to a certain scene in Netflix's documentary on the infamous music festival disaster. However, as King revealed during a recent chat with TMZ, he originally wanted the scene to be scrubbed from the film entirely.

After expressing shock at the popularity of the doc given that "historically nobody watches documentaries and they never make any money," King—who compares his situation to that of a risen phoenix—recalled the moment director Chris Smith helped him understand just how integral his Evian/oral sex story was to the production.

"I went to them and I said, listen, I just talked to my lawyers and some of my creative team and they said 'Andy, you've gotta pull this thing, that can not go into this documentary,'" King said Tuesday. "When I sat with the director, he said 'Andy, you don't understand. Without that scene, there isn't a documentary.' I said, come on, there's no way. And he said 'Trust me.'"

Asked if he still had reservations about the scene, which has since gone viral both with and without context, King was quick to credit its inclusion for his recent wave. "I probably wouldn't be where I am today if it had been taken out," he said. "I mean, how have I become this social media hero over a situation like that? I'm in total shock but I'm riding with it." King also said he's received multiple TV offers, movie cameo gigs, and more.

In Fyre, King informs viewers of the time Billy McFarland allegedly called him up to see if he would be willing to perform oral sex to have the festival's supply of Evian water released by local customs officials.

As reported last week, Ja Rule apparently has plans to take another stab at the whole music festival thing. For King, however, he would "have to think about it" before hopping aboard another Ja Rule festival.
