Another day, another promising Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson project announcement. In today's Rock news, we have this: the highest-paid actor on the planet is developing Muscle Beach for USA Network. Johnson and Dany Garcia are producing the series under their Seven Bucks Productions banner alongside Flynn Picture Company, Varietyreports.

Muscle Beach, an hour-long scripted drama, will chronicle the fascinating 1980s-era Venice Beach vibes that birthed an entire community of so-called "lost souls" who bench-pressed their way to the peak of the American dream. "As a kid growing up in the '80s, it's exciting to produce a series that stays true to our brand and [digs] deep into an iconic time in bodybuilding and unique Venice Beach culture," The Rock said on Instagram Wednesday. "The '80s was a crazy time in Venice Beach with many lost souls. A very crazy time."

Venice Beach's extensive bodybuilding history is having a bit of a moment on the TV circuit, as Arnold Schwarzenegger inked a deal with CBS earlier this week for the series Pump. Schwarzenegger's series, according toDeadline, is "loosely based" on his pre-politics career as the Austrian Oak. "I knew from our first brainstorming session that Pump would be a hit," the part-time terminator told Deadline. "The '70s were such a colorful, transformational time, for me and for our entire country."

The Rock's Seven Bucks Productions, which he co-founded with Garcia, is self-described as a "multi-platform production company" invested in bringing presumably awesome content to TV, film, tech, and more. Thus far, Seven Bucks has its name on San Andreas 2, Jumanji and Baywatch reboots, and the HBO documentary Rock and a Hard Place.

You're welcome.
