Disturbing Footage From Hungary Refugee Camp Shows Migrants Being Fed Like Caged Animals

Footage has emerged showing the disheartening way migrants are being treated inside Hungary's central refugee campon the border with Serbia. The footage, shot by Austrian volunteer Michaela Spritzendorfer-Ehrenhauser, shows Hungarian police donning surgical masks to toss food at a large group of hungry migrants who appear to be gathered inside a fenced-in enclosure space.

"It was like animals being fed in a pen, like Guantanamo in Europe," Alexander Spritzendorfer, Michaela's husband and a Vienna councillor from Austria's Green Party, tells the Telegraph. "It was inhumane and it really speaks for these people that they didn't fight over the food despite being clearly very hungry." Alexander and Michaela were visiting the Röszke​ camp to offer additional food, medication, and clothing for migrants in need.

Though media organizations have not exactly been welcomed with open arms to the growing number of refugee camps along the Hungarian border, President Barack Obama is certain that assistance is gravely needed and recently offered to take in 10,000 Syrian refugees. "In the last three days you've had 10,000 through this border," volunteer David Wade tells CBS News. "That says it all."
