When watching David Ayer's, um, divisive blockbuster Suicide Squad over the weekend, did you suddenly start humming Die Antwoord's "Ugly Boy" to yourself for reasons you couldn't explain? Maybe not. But Die Antwoord seems hella convinced that Ayer's film blatantly ripped off their style and other "tiny details," with Yolandi Visser hitting the 'gram Tuesday night to put the whole damn movie on blast.

According to Yolandi, Ayer spoke with Ninja on the phone before the film's release and pretended to be "down." Stars Cara Delevingne and Jared Leto also reportedly told Yolandi and Ninja how much Ayer had been talking about Die Antwoord during the shoot, though he "never asked permission" to rip them off. Yolandi specifically mentions the opening sequence to their "Umshini Wam" video and the group's "black and white graf" style, calling Ayer a "two-face."

Ninja still attended the Suicide Squad premiere, apparently with the hope that the misunderstanding could be rectified. But that clearly didn't happen, as Yolandi claims "poor ninja had to sit thru dat hole bullshit movie [sic]." Damn! Yolandi then kindly suggested Ayer start his own crew called "I'm a Fake Fuck." Damn.

Speaking withYahoo back in June, Ayer spoke about the inspiration behind one noticeable aspect of The Joker's new look: all that ink. "The tattoos tell a very specific story," Ayer said. "And eventually people will decipher them and understand what's going on, but obviously they're contentious, any time you do something new it's contentious."

David Ayer hasn't responded to Die Antwoord's claims, though an interesting theory to ponder is that all of this controversy will end with the director enlisting them for a major part in the better-be-rated-R Suicide Squad 2.
