'Suicide Squad' Is Reportedly So Sick and Twisted That It's Getting Slapped With a Super Edgy PG-13 Rating

PG-13 stands for Pretty Great (for everyone over the age of) 13, right?

Remember when Suicide Squad director David Ayer was so concerned with the dark "realism" of the subject matter that he hired an on-set therapist for the actors? You might be safe torching that excitement because, according to producer Charles Roven, Suicide Squad is probably going to land a seemingly implausible PG-13. Speaking with Collider, Roven made a point to highlight the fact that Squad is very much a "shared franchise" film and will remain tonally consistent with other projects in the DC realm:

Of course, there is one alternative theory floating about. What if PG-13 is the new R? What if PG-13 just means Pretty Great (for anyone over the age of ) 13? Could Jared Leto's method acting really have been all for the sake of another PG-13 version of a DC villain? There are no answers for these questions of anguish. However, it's worth mentioning that Tim Burton's Batman films, the supremely underrated Batman and Batman Returns, both managed to deliver an impressive amount of general disturbia within the confines of a PG-13 prison:
