Comedian Desi Banks Reacts to Complex's Funniest People on the Internet List: 'F*ck a Complex, F*ck a List'

Last month, Banks was ranked at No. 8 on Complex's list of the funniest internet personalities.

Desi Banks presented Complex with the ideal opportunity to quote a certain evergreen 50 Cent moment with this week’s release of a new parody track.

Wednesday, Banks, who was last month ranked among Complex’s choices for "the funniest people on the internet right now," shared what he billed as a riff on "how rappers make beef songs [and] music videos." Notably, this was done in "Black Forces style."

Tucked into the lyrics is a direct mention of Complex, i.e. the very publication you’re reading right now, like so:

Fuck that, fuck that, fuck a Complex/Fuck a list, fuck a list, n***a, I’m that n***a, bitch

The track proved to be an instant hit on Instagram (and elsewhere) with public co-signs from 2 Chainz, 6lack, O.T. Genasis, and more. Banks has also since teased the possibility of sharing a full version of the parody track, though there hadn’t been any movement on that front as of this writing.

Naturally, as hinted at above, Complex’s only recourse was to borrow an oft-memed line from headlines mainstay 50 Cent.

Banks was ranked at No. 8 on Complex's list in June. Among those joining him in the top 10 were Funny Marco, Theo Von, Druski, and more. See the full list here.

With the Complex-mentioning parody track having revived the ranking debate, Banks has provided this writer with the unique opportunity of penning a Complex piece about a Complex-spurred lyric that more or less forces Complex to mention Complex in a Complex headline, thus presumably tearing open a space-time continuum hole that may or may not trigger a cataclysmic event at some point in the future.

Thank you, Desi Banks.
