Chris Pratt, understandably, is stoked about the recent reinstatement of Guardians of the Galaxy franchise director James Gunn. As you'll recall, the resurfacing of old tweets was the reason for the temporary (and quite controversial) ousting last summer.

At Monday's Avengers: Endgame premiere, Pratt relayed his feelings of stokedness about Gunn's March reinstatement to People, noting that it's good news for creators and fans alike.

"I was so thrilled, so excited," Pratt, who was among those who publicly pushed for Gunn's rehiring, said at the Los Angeles premiere event. "I think it's the right move, I really stand behind it. I'm really proud of Disney for hiring James back and ultimately thrilled for not only us, but also for the fans. I think it's going to wrap up the trilogy in the best way."

Pratt added that, for him, the Guardians story is "all about second chances" amid a makeshift family watching out for each other.

Fellow franchise star Zoe Saldana expressed similar sentiments in a New York Daily News chat earlier this month, saying the move made her "very proud" of Disney for sending a strong message about accountability and redemption.

In his own statement last month, Gunn—whose rise to directorial glory famously has its roots in the still-going-strong Tromauniverse—said he was "tremendously grateful" for the support of fans and friends. "I am always learning and will continue to work at being the best human being I can be," he said.
