Charlamagne tha God is closing out the year with a reported $200 million deal with iHeartMedia to his name.

The five-year extension is cited in a new Forbes piece from Jabari Young, with the publication noting that the multimillion-dollar deal will see Charlamagne remaining part of The Breakfast Club for the foreseeable future. The $200 million amount, meanwhile, places Charlamagne in rare air among the larger podcast personality space. The deal is reported to have been inked in August of this year.

Key to the deal, per Charlamagne, is the continued expansion of his Black Effect podcast network. In his words, the larger aim is to ultimately spearhead “the BET for podcasting.”

Complex has reached out to iHeartMedia reps for more details on the reported $200 million deal. This story may be updated.

This week, iHeartRadio announced an exclusive video podcast partnership with Netflix that will see The Breakfast Club and other shows being brought to the streaming platform in 2026. While the deal makes Netflix the excessive home for the video versions of Breakfast Club and other shows, including Joe and Jada and Dear Chelsea, iHeartMedia will retain audio-only rights and distribution.

“Working with Netflix—an important leader in entertainment— gives fans one more way to connect with the personalities they love and opens the door to new audiences, including viewers discovering these shows for the first time,” Bob Pittman, CEO of iHeartMedia, said when announcing the partnership.

Charlamagne, a longtime fixture in Complex headlines, came in at No. 5 on the 2025 edition of our Hip-Hop Media Power Ranking. Kai Cenat, Nardwuar, Joe Budden, and Anthony Fantano were among the other personalities to land in the annual ranking. See the full list here.
