Cara Delevingne Calls Out "Horrific" Film Critics for Bashing 'Suicide Squad'

Suicide Squad eve is upon us and, sadly, all anyone seems capable of talking about is all those bad reviews and/or that inevitable Rotten Tomatoes petition. In the wake of the not-exactly-great Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, DC fans have put a lot of pressure on director David Ayer and the film's stacked cast to deliver a classic. Many film critics have argued that Suicide Squadfailed to do that and, as you might expect, that notion isn't exactly sitting well with the film's stars.

"The critics have been absolutely horrific," Cara Delevingne, who plays Enchantress in the film, toldReuters at the Suicide Squad premiere in London Wednesday. "They're really, really horrible. You know, I just don't think they like superhero movies."​

The rest of the Suicide Squad cast and crew backed up Delevingne's disappointment with critics, including co-star Will Smith. "I think people had expectations that may have been different," Smith told Reuters. "But I'm excited for the fans to get to vote." The fans, it seems, already have.

That aforementioned Rotten Tomatoes petition, calling for the film reviews aggregate site to shut down due to Suicide Squad's remarkably low average, quickly garnered more than 18,000 signatures from peeved DC fans and/or people who found the very idea of its existence hilarious.
