'Black Mirror' will presumably attempt to amazingly predict another disturbing political scandal.

If recent news of David Cameron allegedly inserting a particular part of his anatomy into the mouth of a dead pig didn't leave you craving some tofu bacon, then this should certainly do the trick. Netflix has ordered a new season of the diabolically brilliant Channel 4 series Black Mirror, bringing 12 new episodes to the streaming platform beginning in 2016. House of Tomorrow will produce the twelve new episodes as a Netflix original series, with Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones continuing forward as showrunners.

"It's all very exciting, a whole new bunch of Black Mirror episodes on the most fitting platform imaginable," Brooker said in a statement announcing the Netflix order. "Netflix connects us with a global audience so that we can create bigger, stranger, more international and diverse stories than before, whilst maintaining that Black Mirror feel. I just hope none of these new story ideas come true." Though an official release schedule was not made immediately available, the new episodes are expected to begin shooting by the end of this year.

Black Mirror joins recent Netflix success stories Orange is the New Black, House of Cards, Narcos, and the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, meaning Netflix is very clearly intent on stacking up those Emmys while making the television of the future. Well played, Netflix. Well played.
