Beth Chapman, co-star ofDog the Bounty Hunter, has died following a battle with lung cancer.

Her death was confirmed by husband Duane "Dog" Chapman in a tweet Wednesday saying she had "hiked the stairway to heaven." Speaking with USA Today, family attorney Andrew Brettler said they were "heartbroken" by the news that Chapman had "passed away early this morning Hawaii time." Over the weekend, Chapman—who was initially diagnosed with Stage 2 throat cancer in 2017—had been placed in a medically induced coma.

The couple rose to prominence with the hit A&E series Dog the Bounty Hunter, which ran for eight seasons and was followed by a CMT spin-off titled Dog and Beth: On the Hunt and a 2017 special, Dog and Beth: Fight of Their Lives. The latter focused on Beth's cancer diagnosis.

WGN America, which was previously announced as the home of an upcoming new series titled Dog's Most Wanted, shared a tribute statement Wednesday.

Fans of the series have also shared memoriam messages.
