The White House just made a new addition to their press team and if her face looks familiar, there's a reason for that. Former Disney Channel star Caroline Sunshine is officially a press assistant, CNN reports. Sunshine is best known for her roles on shows like Shake It Up alongside Zendaya, as well as a film role in the 2010 film Marmaduke alongside Owen Wilson.

Sunshine has been working on the political side of her career for quite some time, having been involved in the American Enterprise Institute while she was attending Claremont McKenna College, as well as being a part of its model U.N. team. White House spokeswoman Lindsay Walters offered some more background on Sunshine in a statement to CNN, explaining she interned for U.S. Representative Kevin McCarthy, the College Republican National Committee, and the California Republican Party, according to Walters.

Sunshine isn't the only television alum who has found a place in the Trump administration in recent weeks, with CNBC host Larry Kudlow named the head of the White House National Economic Council as well Fox News analyst John Bolton being named the next national security adviser. Many would argue the President himself is more a reality television star than a politician, so adding camera-ready personalities to his roster makes sense.
