Meg Ryan, Dennis Quaid, Russell Crowe

When: 2000-2001

After nine years of marriage, Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid looked like they would be one of the few Hollywood couples that could overcome the obstacles and stand the test of time. However, after Meg met Russell Crowe on the set of 2000's Proof of Life, that proved not to be the case. Soon after hooking up with the New Zealand actor on set, Meg and Dennis announced their divorce. In later years, Ryan alleged that the split wasn't all her fault. The adorable actress claimed that Quaid was unfaithful during their marriage as well.

Richie Sambora, Heather Locklear, Denise Richards

When: 2007-2008

After 12 years of marriage, in 2007, rocker Richie Sambora and the timelessly hot Heather Locklear filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the cause. Just months after the split, the legendary Bon Jovi guitarist began dating one of Locklear's best friends in the world, comparably hot actress Denise Richards, who, after a tumultuous break-up with Charlie Sheen, found herself newly single as well. The hook-up effectively put a temporary end to the long-time friendship of Locklear and Richards. And although everyone has since reconciled and are on good terms, for a while there, Heather wanted both Sambora and Richards more dead than alive.

Chad Michael Murray, Sophia Bush, Paris Hilton

When: September 2005

Like so many other actresses, Sophia Bush, whose beauty often goes underrated, fell in love while on set. After meeting on the CW's One Tree Hill, Sophia married co-star Chad Michael Murray after two years of dating. The couple seemed to be a match made in heaven, that is, until Chad met billionaire heiress and night vision queen Paris Hilton. The two appeared together in 2005's House of Wax, and rumors of infidelity on the part of Murray began to swirl.

Before long, after just five months, the marriage was annulled. Bush later said, "It devastates me now that I have been reduced to a Hollywood statistic, another joke marriage. I never expected to be married more than once...because I knew what I was getting into and will always believe in love."

Billy Crudup, Mary-Louise Parker, Claire Danes

When: 2003-2004

Almost Famous' golden god Billy Crudup endeared himself to women nowhere when in 2003, after nearly seven years together, he left long-time girlfriend Mary-Louise Parker while she was seven months pregnant with the couples' first child. The reason? He fell in love with actress Claire Danes while they were shooting the forgettable Stage Beauty. After leaving his baby mama in the dust, Crudup and Daines dated for three years. They broke it off in December of 2006.

Elizabeth Taylor, Eddie Fisher, Richard Burton

When: 1963-1964

Although she had infamously "stolen" her fourth husband, singer Eddie Fisher, from actress Debbie Reynolds, Elizabeth Taylor's union with Fisher was no match for what would become a tumultuous love affair with actor Richard Burton. When Taylor and Burton met on the set of 1963's Cleopatra, they were immediately inseparable, even extending an on-screen kiss beyond the director's "cut" signal. Though both Taylor and Burton were still married to other people at the time, they continued their affair. Just before Taylor and Burton tied the knot in 1964, Fisher told TIME, "I wouldn't stand in the way of this earth-shattering, world-shaking romance for anything in the world."

Billy Bob Thornton, Laura Dern, Angelina Jolie

When: 2000

Prior to adopting a million children with current husband Brad Pitt, you may remember that Angelina Jolie was first married to actor Billy Bob Thorton. In fact, Angelina even went as far as having the Bad Santa star's name tattooed on her arm and wearing a vial of his blood around her neck.

At the time, these two eccentric thespians seemed like kindred spirits. The only problem was that while they met, Billy Bob was already engaged. Thornton was set to marry Enlightened star Laura Dern, but broke it off as soon as he and Jolie hit it off. Commenting on the situation, Dern's quoted as saying, "I left our home to go and make a movie and while I was away, my boyfriend got married and I never heard from him again."

Ouch.

Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Rubert Sanders

When: July 2012

Being that the Twilight franchise has been one of the hottest things going in recent years, when pictures leaked showing Kristen Stewart cheating on co-star and long-time boyfriend Robert Pattinson over the summer, the internet damn near exploded. And to make matters worse, Rupert Sanders, the director who made a cuckold of R-Patz, has a wife and kids! The story not only turned the lives of Stewart, Pattinson and Sanders upside down, but it also made the promotion of Breaking Dawn: Part 2 just a little awkward.

Woody Allen, Mia Farrow, Soon-Yi Previn

When: 1992-1997

In the early to mid '90s, prolific writer/director Woody Allen was at the center of one of the most bizarre scandals to ever rock the film world. Woody had been married to actress Mia Farrow for 12 years, but their relationship ended in 1992 after Mia discovered nude photos Woody had taken of Soon-Yi Previn, the daughter Mia had adopted with her ex-husband, Andre Previn. Soon after, Woody split from Mia and began a relationship with Soon-Yi, who at the time was 22 years old. And contrary to popular belief, Woody was never Soon-Yi's stepfather. Not like that makes the situation any more normal, but still.

Over 20 years later, this relationship is still going strong. In fact, the two have a child together.

Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston, Angelina Jolie

When: 2004-2005

Ah, Brad, Angelina and Jen, the love triangle that the tabloids won't let fade away.

If Jennifer Aniston just straight-up loathes one film, it has to be Mr. & Mrs. Smith. It was on the set of that 2005 film where Pitt, who at that point had been with Aniston for seven years and married to her for two, met one of the sexiest women on the planet, Angelina Jolie. The chemistry between the two on set was described as palpable, and soon after production wrapped, so did Brad and Jen's storybook romance.

Not long after, so began the union of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, one which continues to this day. After seven years and five children, the two superstars announced their engagement this past April. Not to be outdone, Aniston announced her engagement to actor, director and screenwriter Justin Theroux in August.

Long before there was a Team Edward or a Team Jacob, this love triangle sparked a series of "Team Aniston" and "Team Jolie" t-shirts.

Spencer Tracy, Louise Treadwell, Katharine Hepburn

When: 1941-1967

This one is truly a love triangle for the ages. Legendary actor Spencer Tracy was married to Louise Treadwell, who also went by Louise Tracy, for 40 years. The two remained wed until Tracy passed away in June of 1967. However, for more than 26 of those years, Tracy carried on a secret love affair with Katharine Hepburn, the iconic actress whom he co-starred in nine movies with. As legend has it, Spencer remained with Louise all those years for fear of causing the couple's two children, John and Susie, humiliation and heartache.

Both Hepburn and Treadwell were present at the cemetery when Tracy's body was laid to rest.
