In addition to abruptly killing off characters, Game of Thrones has become known for its epic battle scenes. Thanks to a since-deleted Instagram post, there is strong reason to believe season 8 will feature a larger-than-life battle scene that took 55 nights to film.
Game of Thrones assistant director Jonathan Quinlan recently posted a picture of a thank you card given to the show’s cast and crew as a reward for completing the shoot. The card’s text can be read below.
Quinlan deleted the post, but not before fan site Watchers on the Wall captured a screenshot for posterity.
For comparison’s sake, Game of Thrones’ famous “Battle of the Bastards” featuring Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton took 25 days to shoot. We'll still have to wait until 2019 to see if this Game of Thrones sequence lives up to that battle's (not to mention “Blackwater” or “Hardhome”) heights.
