Yet another piece of TV news that came out of the Television Critics Association’s Saturday press tour: Snoop Dogg will executive produce a pot comedy for MTV, for which he also wrote and performed the theme song, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The rapper will also guest star on the show, dubbed Mary + Jane, which tells the story of two "ganja-preneurs" who run an all-female weed delivery service, also per Entertainment Weekly. Each episode will clock in at a half hour.
When Dogg introduced the series on Saturday, he said he was the best man for the job because he's “been delivering weed for a long m—f— time,” according toDeadline. Executive producer Deborah Kaplan added: “He does not play himself. He’s like a Snoop Fairy.”
Dogg is currently in the middle of a summer tour—dubbed The High Road—with Wiz Khalifa.
Watch out for the Snoop Fairy when Mary + Jane premieres Monday, Sept. 5 at 10 p.m. ET.
