'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' Will be Bigger than 'Skyrim,' Coming on Next-Gen Consoles

You just blew our minds, CD Projekt.

CD Projekt Red has officially announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which it confirmed in a press release will be the final The Witcher game. According to Game Informer, whose March issue will cover the game extensively, The Witcher 3 is set in an open world 30 times bigger than the world in The Witcher 2, and even larger than Skyrim's. That's pretty fucking ambitious, and it seems it's all thanks to CD Projekt's REDengine 3, the next-gen RPG engine that was announced last week.

As usual, studio head Adam Badowski had some lengthy quotes for the press release:

CD Projekt says The Witcher 3 will be available in 2014 for "PC and high-end platforms." You don't have to be a genius to figure out that that means Sony and Microsoft's next consoles, which could start getting announced as soon as this month.

So can The Witcher 3 trounce Skyrim as the most popular open-world RPG ever? Let us know what you think.
