Love Island USA alum Yulissa Escobar says she was violently assaulted outside a Miami Taco Bell early Monday morning, leaving her hospitalized with a concussion as police search for the suspects.
Escobar told authorities she was attacked shortly after leaving LIV nightclub in Miami Beach, where she had attended a late-night performance with a friend. After the show, the pair stopped at a nearby Taco Bell in the early morning hours to grab food.
According to a police report filed with the Miami Beach Police Department, Escobar was waiting for her order when an unknown man approached her and began making what officers described as inappropriate remarks. Escobar told police she ignored the comments, but the situation quickly escalated.
Investigators say a woman who appeared to be with the man became upset and suddenly struck Escobar on her right cheek. The force of the blow caused visible injury, and the suspects fled the scene immediately afterward in a white Mercedes, according to the report.
Escobar was later taken to a hospital, where doctors determined she had suffered a concussion. She has since been released and is recovering at home. The reality star told TMZ she is stepping away from social media while she heals. Miami Beach Police confirmed they are actively investigating the incident, though no arrests have been made as of now.
Escobar has publicly questioned whether the attack could be connected to online backlash she received during her brief appearance on Love Island USA Season 7. She exited the show before its second episode aired after past videos resurfaced showing her using a slur while discussing relationship drama. At the time, Escobar issued a public apology, saying the language was used out of ignorance.
While authorities have not linked the assault to Escobar’s television appearance or online criticism, she says the incident has left her shaken and fearful. Police are urging anyone with information related to the alleged attack or the suspects’ whereabouts to come forward as the investigation continues.
