Kid Cudi has been tapped to star alongside Adam Sandler in the upcoming Happy Gilmore sequel.

On Friday, Deadline announced Cudi will appear in the movie, but his role in the film's plot is still "under wraps." In addition to Cudi, Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald will reprise their roles as Virginia Venit and Shooter McGavin, respectively. Cudi's most recent movie role came in M. Night Shyamalan's Trap with Josh Hartnett.

Sandler had previously teased during his appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that both Travis Kelce and Bad Bunny would be making appearances in the film.

He also claimed that several pro golfers will appear in the sequel, and production is currently underway. Kyle Newacheck is directing the film with a script written by Sandler and Tim Herlihy, who are also working as producers with Jack Giarraputo and Robert Simonds. Dennis Dugan, the director of the first film, was hired as an executive producer alongside Judit Maull, Kevin Grady, David Bausch and Barry Bernardi.

Happy Gilmore was released in 1996 and tells the story of a failed hockey player with a bad temper who starts playing golf and ends up shaking up the golf community. The film grossed $82 million worldwide and grew a cult following. Sandler and the late Bob Barker won an MTV Movie Award for Best Fight in 1996 for their hilarious bout in the film.
