Gypsy Rose Blanchard is facing criticism online after a recent TikTok video in which she appeared to reference her mother's killing in a lighthearted way.
In the clip, Gypsy participates in the viral "We listen, and we don't judge" trend alongside influencer Natalie Reynolds. During the exchange, she casually mentions that she served more than eight years in prison for her role in her mother's death. When Reynolds reacts with surprise, Gypsy responds with the trend's signature line: "Hey, we listen, and we don't judge."
The moment quickly spread across social media, but not everyone found it lighthearted or funny. The video's comment section was filled with criticism, with some users calling the tone inappropriate given the seriousness of the case.
"Nothing funny about this at all.," one person wrote. Another said, "That wasn't cute nor funny smh."
Someone else added, "There's absolutely nothing funny in this, this is actually so freaking wrong."
Gypsy served nearly eight years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in connection with the death of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, a case that drew national attention due to allegations of long-term abuse. She was released in December 2023, while the man who carried out the killing, Nicholas Godejohn, is serving a life sentence.
Since her release, Gypsy has maintained a growing presence on social media, where she's shared updates about her life and engaged with followers. However, the latest video highlights the ongoing scrutiny she faces when addressing her past in public spaces.
