Bella and Gigi Hadid revealed they have a previously unknown half-sister named Aydan Nix.
In a joint statement shared with the Daily Mail, the sisters disclosed that they recently connected with 23-year-old Aydan after learning of her existence through a DNA test she took following the death of the man she believed was her biological father. Raised in Florida, Aydan grew up unaware of her connection to the high-profile Hadid family.
The Hadids explained that their father, Mohamed Hadid, had a short relationship over two decades ago—after his 2000 divorce from Yolanda Hadid—that resulted in Aydan's birth.
"Aydan was born and raised in Florida, growing up with the man she lovingly knew as her father until his sudden passing when she was 19," said the Hadid sisters. "After his passing, she decided to take a genetic test out of curiosity, and that's how she discovered a biological connection to us."
They added, "We've cherished this unexpected and beautiful addition to our family [...] As siblings, we've had many open and loving conversations—with Aydan included—about how to support and protect her. Aydan and her family value their privacy, and we fully respect that. We kindly ask others to do the same and honor her wish and right to her anonymity as she continues her life as a young woman in New York."
After first meeting Aydan in late 2023, the Hadid sisters say they've since formed a strong bond. Aydan, a recent Parsons School of Design graduate, has dabbled in modeling and creative work, much like her older sisters. Though she resides in New York, she maintains a private life, which the Hadids say they are committed to protecting.
In addition to Aydan, Bella and Gigi also have two older half-sisters, Marielle and Alana Hadid, from their father's first marriage, and Anwar, from his union with Bella and Gigi's mother.
