Arnold Schwarzenegger spent part of his Thanksgiving holiday dealing with law enforcement after his home was swatted.
According to TMZ, the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call that a bomb had been placed in Schwarzenegger's mailbox at his home. Police then went to search the area and didn't find any bomb. Sources told TMZ that police had spoken with Schwarzenegger's security staff, and they claimed it's not easy for someone to put a bomb near the home given the 24-hour security and video surveillance that the Terminator actor installed to ensure his and his family's safety.
Schwarzenegger wasn't home when the police arrived; he was at the gym before joining his family for the holiday. No arrests have been made in connection to the bomb threat. However, reps for Schwarzenegger stated they're "grateful" that police are investigating the situation.
There has been an uptick in high-profile figures receiving bomb threats. Earlier this week, President-elect Donald Trump revealed several members of his cabinet had received threats, such as Congressman Matt Gaetz, who had a bomb squad sent to his home to investigate.
Even members of the Democratic party have been swatted. One of the wildest ones happened earlier this year when someone called 911 regarding a fire in the White House that had someone trapped. Firefighters and EMS arrived in the early morning only to find out the call was a hoax.
