On New Year's Eve in 1967, Evel Knievel launched his Triumph Bonneville into the air and tried to fly 141 feet over the Caesars Palace fountains. He fell a foot short, crashed, and ended up in the hospital for nearly a month.

Almost 60 years later, Tao Group Hospitality is bringing somebody back to the Vegas hotspot to finish the job — and that “somebody” is Colby Raha.

According to the announcement, the 12-time X Games medalist will attempt to break his own world record for the highest motorcycle jump above the famous fountains, aiming for more than 100 feet of vertical air.

"Attempting a jump at the same location where Evel Knievel made his historic attempt carries real meaning," Raha said. "It's an opportunity to push limits at one of the most iconic locations in stunt history at one of the most iconic resorts in Las Vegas."

The spectacle is set for Sunday, May 17, capping the grand opening weekend for OMNIA Dayclub & Skybar — the cherry on top of what's shaping up to be one of the most ambitious Vegas dayclub debuts in years.

"Over the last 60 years, Caesars Palace has orchestrated iconic events that have resonated across the globe," Caesars Entertainment Regional President Sean McBurney said. "We're elated to introduce OMNIA Dayclub & Skybar with our tremendous partners at Tao Group Hospitality. This dynamic addition reflects our ongoing commitment to create unforgettable memories for our guests to last another six decades and beyond."

The new venue, which officially opens May 15, is a flex.

Designed by Rockwell Group with cues from Mykonos, St. Tropez, and Ibiza beach clubs, the 46,000-square-foot space connects to the existing OMNIA Nightclub via a dedicated bridge, putting the combined day-to-night footprint at 121,000 square feet.

The opening lineup unfolds over three nights. On Friday, Australian DJ Fisher kicks things off — the former pro surfer behind the Grammy-nominated, Billboard Dance-topping "Losing It," and a longtime resident across Tao Group venues.

Sydney trio Rüfüs du Sol follow Saturday with a rare DJ set, fresh off their Inhale / Exhale World Tour being honored as the highest-selling electronic tour of all time. Dutch hitmaker Martin Garrix, a multi-time No. 1 DJ in the world per DJ Mag, closes the weekend Sunday afternoon, hours before the attention shifts from the booth to the fountains.
