Charlize Theron Just Reacted to Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s Wedding Snub

She didn’t make the guest list, but she definitely made headlines.

Jeff Bezos just reportedly spent a cool $50 million saying “I do” to Lauren Sánchez in Venice, with everyone from Oprah to Leonardo DiCaprio on the guest list. Not on it? Charlize Theron — and she’s totally fine with that.

“I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding,” the 49-year-old Atomic Blonde star said on Saturday, June 28, while hosting the fifth annual Block Party for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP) in Los Angeles.

“But that’s OK because they suck and we’re cool,” she added, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Theron’s jab came one day after the newlyweds turned the island of San Giorgio Maggiore into a three-day A-list playground, complete with a black-tie ceremony and a final dance party headlined by Usher.

Shifting gears, the award-winning actress went on to thank her guests for showing up, “especially when the world feels like it’s burning.”

“Here in Los Angeles, in the U.S. and across the globe, we’re moving backwards fast,” Theron continued. “Immigration policy has destroyed the lives of families, not criminals; women’s rights are becoming less and less every day; queer and trans lives are increasingly being erased; and gender-based violence is on the rise. This isn’t just policy, it’s personal.”

The post-apocalyptic queen of Fury Road ended the moment with a final line that drew loud applause: “Yeah, f–k them.”

Theron hasn’t been the only one to drag the 61-year-old Amazon founder and his new bride, 55. A handful of other public figures have taken shots at the couple’s over-the-top affair — or expressed zero interest in being part of it.

On Sunday, June 29, Rosie O’Donnell called the wedding a display of “gross excess” in a fiery Substack post, describing it as “worthless performative nonsense” and part of a culture of “celebrity worship devoid of humanity.”

Megyn Kelly also weighed in, quipping on her SiriusXM show that what mattered was a “star-studded event, not that they have dear friends who love them standing up for them when they take a sacred vow.”

Meanwhile, Jenna Bush Hager took a gentler but honest stance on Today With Jenna & Friends, admitting she’d “hate” being there — not because of the couple, but because of the public chaos surrounding their celebration. “There’s protests in Venice, which I personally would hate because they’re celebrating their love,” the 43-year-old TV personality explained last week.

And Bush Hager wasn’t exaggerating. In the lead-up to the wedding, climate and labor activists took to the canals with anti-Bezos demonstrations, including a floating dummy of the billionaire, banners that read “No Space for Bezos,” and chants targeting his environmental impact and extreme wealth.
