Cole Sprouse Recalls Twin Brother Dylan Being 'Huge Bully,’ Says He’d Beat Up Kids

While appearing on the podcast ‘Call Her Daddy,’ the Riverdale star recalled their in grade school, with Cole saying Dylan was an agitator early on in life.

Cole Sprouse and Dylan Sprouse may be twins, but they were apparently quite different as children.

While appearing on the podcast Call Her Daddy, the Riverdale star recalled their in grade school, with Cole saying Dylan was an agitator early on in life.

“Dylan, specifically, was a huge bully,” he said. “He would beat them up! And then I became known as the twin that would come up and be like, ‘I’m so sorry for my brother. I apologize.’”

When asked whether their dynamic in 2005’s beloved Disney Channel sitcom The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody mirrored real life, Cole had this to say.

“I think the writers on ‘Zack & Cody’ took a lot of cues from our actual personalities, but yeah, he was a real bully,” Cole replied, adding “I don’t know if he’s fine with it. I think he’s still got stuff to work out.”

Dylan Sprouse had previously echoed this sentiment in an interview with the New York Daily News while promoting his 2018 film Banana Split.

“I was not a good kid,” Dylan said at the time. “And I was always in trouble. And I was dealing with a lot of stuff at home that I was bringing to school and taking out on other people. And it wasn’t until I was kind of … in a nurturing environment where I became a much better person, for lack of a better way to describe it. … In high school, I was a very, very different person than I am now.”

Dylan also said his time on Suite Life made him realize that being a leading man isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

“I think it’s just fucking boring,” Dylan added. “Just frankly. I don’t mean to be so blunt. … I don’t think it really reaches the heart of what acting is. Like if I wanted to just do big films that didn’t have substance or didn’t have anything to say about who I am and what I like to respond to, I don’t think it would be fair to the people who have also kind of responded to the stuff I’ve done. … I think it’s also too conceited, truly.”
