Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has adopted a baby with her husband of one year, Jake Bongiovi. The couple, who married in May 2024, are now first-time parents to a baby girl.
Brown wrote via Instagram, “This summer we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood, in both peace and privacy.”
The post concluded, “And then there were 3. Love Millie and Jake Bongiovi.” No further details were shared about the adoption.
However, as this news broke, an interview Brown did with Alex Cooper in March 2025 for the Call Her Daddy podcast has resurfaced. The actress claimed that when she had her first child, she would shave her head.
“I always tell Jake that for my first baby, I want to shave my hair off,” she admitted, citing how “liberating” it felt to do so for her Stranger Things role.
“I think hair is such an ordeal anyway. I am going to nurture my child, so why would I want to deal with my hair? I think it's such a liberating experience.”
The couple first met in 2021 when she was 17 and he, 19. She told Wired in a November 2022 interview, "We were friends for a bit, and then, what can I say?" she said.
Brown and Bongiovi made their red carpet debut in March 2022 at the British Academy Film Awards. One year later, they announced their engagement via Instagram. She quotes Taylor Swift lyrics in her caption, writing, "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all.”
Brown told Jimmy Fallon how Bongiovi proposed while on vacation during an early morning dive. While underwater, he gave her a shell, and when she turned it over, she saw her ring.
The couple married in Tuscany, Italy in October 2024.
