Kylie Jenner is recreating Madonna’s iconic style in a skin-baring new photoshoot.
The Kardashians star shared a slideshow of images on Instagram, where she channeled the Material Girl with an ensemble straight out of the singer’s ‘90s playbook. Jenner paired a barely there top with a slim black skirt and heels.
She captioned the post, “I look major.” According to Page Six, Jenner was at a photo shoot for her family’s Hulu series when these photographs were taken.
The post, liked over a million times, had thousands of comments, including some from family members and famous friends. Her mother, Kris Jenner, responded, “Yes, you do,” while Hulu added, “and it is major.”
Another fan added the shoot was “iconic.” A second penned, “OK Madonna!” while a third quipped, “Where is your top, young lady?”
Khloé Kardashian subsequently shared an Instagram post of her and sisters Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie, lip syncing, “Oh my God, I’m turning into my mother.” The camera pans to Kris Jenner, who lip syncs, “Good.”
The family was all dressed in different black outfits. Like Kylie, Kim, and Khloé wore revealing outfits. In contrast, Kourtney, Kendall, and Kris appeared more covered up.
Jenner’s look was reminiscent of Madonna, who famously wore a pointy cone bra during her 1990 Blonde Ambition tour. This iconic look was designed by Jean Paul Gaultier and became a defining symbol of both Madonna's style and Gaultier's career.
“When Madonna first called me in 1989, it was two days before my ready-to-wear show, and I thought my assistant was joking,” said Gaultier in a 2001 interview with The New York Times. “I was a big fan. She knew what she wanted—a pinstripe suit, the feminine corsetry. Madonna likes my clothes because they combine the masculine and the feminine.”
