Machine Gun Kelly’s new song getting an unexpected push from ESPN.
On July 31, the sports network announced they selected a MGK track as the official anthem for the upcoming 2025-2026 College Football Season. They teased the collaboration via Instagram.
The song is called “Don’t Wait, Run Fast.” It's off MGK’s Lost Americana album, which is set to be released on Aug. 8.
The tune will serve as the soundtrack to the NCAAF games this fall. ESPN’s social media told its followers, “This is what college football sounds like.” Following, Jelly Roll said that the Lost Americana roll out has been “legendary” in the post’s comments section.
Fans were fully supportive of this collaboration in the post’s comments section. “MGK can’t be stopped. He is the multi-genre king!”
A second social media user wrote, “MGK we love that.” A third MGK puts out bangers. This song fits.”
Having a song in hot rotation during the NCAAF games is a coup for Kelly. Viewers will hear the song dozens of times throughout the season, and it will become a major part of their game day experience.
Other songs that have become intrinsically linked to the season’s games are Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries,” Post Malone’s “Something Real,” Lauren Alaina’s “History,” Thirty Seconds to Mars’ “Walk on Water,” and Imagine Dragons’ “Natural.”
This is the third year the sports network has used a former rapper for its anthem. In 2024, Jelly Roll took the top spot, and Post Malone was the network's 2023 choice.
This news comes ahead of MGK Day in Cleveland, Ohio. The event runs from Aug. 8 through 10 and will celebrate the artists’ seventh album.
Fans will be able to preview the new album, enjoy brunch, a bar crawl, skateboarding, a hoops shootout, and a motorcycle ride through town. Tickets are $15, and attendees are encouraged to donate school supplies for children in need.
