When looking at the stories going into tonight's Golden Globes, we asked if the winner's circle would look more diverse this year. With his Best Actor in a Television Series – Drama win for This Is Us, Sterling K. Brown has made Golden Globes history, becoming the first black man to ever win the award.

During his acceptance speech, Brown addressed This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman, saying, "You wrote a role for a black man. That can only be played by a black man. I'm being seen for who I am."

Brown's been an AWARDS SZN staple since appearing in The People v. O.J. Simpson. His portrayal of attorney Christopher Darden earned him an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor, for which he also won a Critics' Choice Television Award, a Black Reel Award, and others. He's also won an Emmy and a NAACP Image Award for his portrayal of Randall Pearson on This Is Us. Something tells us he'll continue to be nominated for as long as NBC keeps him on the program.
