Cosplayers take their craft seriously, but a New Jersey man took this enthusiasm just a little too far. NJ.com reports that John C. Williams was arrested for impersonating a police officer, while on probation for the same offense.

The 60-year-old was taken into custody on Thursday after authorities searched his SUV. According to the Mercer County Sheriff's Office, they found handcuffs, official Mercer County Prosecutor's placards, State Police work clothes and an empty police holster. The vehicle had also been altered to look more official with a siren, tinted windows, strobe lights, and police decals.

He faces charges of illegal possession of handcuffs, receiving stolen property and impersonating a police officer. Oh, and his SUV was impounded. Authorities are asking anyone who thinks they were approached by Williams to reach out to Sheriff's Detective Joseph Tuccillo at JTuccillo@MercerCounty.org or 609-989-6111.
