You only had a wait a decade and a half, but the pseudo follow up to Ang Lee’s surprise hit is coming soon and Netflix just released its first trailer.
Directed by Woo-Ping Yuen, who is renowned for his martial arts choreography in The Matrix Trilogy and both Kill Bill films, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny will follow the fight to keep a “great warrior’s” sword away from an evil warlord. The story is simple enough but will feature no shortage of elaborate action sequences much like its predecessor.
Michelle Yeoh is set to reprise her role as Yu Shu Lien alongside an all new cast that includes Blade II’sDonnie Yen and Glee alum Harry Shum, Jr. The film will be released simultaneously in select IMAX theaters and on Netflix on Feb. 26. For your first look, check out the trailer above.
