You won’t have to wait much longer to see Chris Hansen take down surprised child predators in the middle of their kitchens. The crowdfunded campaign Hansen vs. Predator raised nearly $90,000 to bring TV’s much talked about internet watchdog back to the small screen.

The New Republic, which followed Hansen during filming, reported that the first sting operation for the reboot began October 1 in Fairfield, Connecticut. The crew camped out for four days outside of a decoy house to catch their latest foe but you’ll have to wait until the series airs to see how it all went down.

With the threat of heated confrontations ending less than ideally, the police in Fairfield are reluctantly lending a helping hand. “We thought long and hard about this,” said deputy police chief Christopher Lyddy, “but at the end of the day we completely understood that this was going to happen no matter what, and that we really had a responsibility to become involved and to ensure this neighborhood was safe.”

So Hansen lives to catch another predator.
