Big K.R.I.T. is a big advocate of video games that tell a story. Makes sense, considering the Mississippi bred wordsmith has a knack for making music that depicts real life situations. His album Live From The Underground is making its rounds, and we caught K.R.I.T. just as he was en route to Switzerland to start a series of overseas shows, continuing to push his product. While he has a specific list of video games in mind, his dream game would be a combination of NBA 2K12 and Grand Theft Auto. Gaming gods, pay attention.

NCAA Football: Road To Glory
You can play as a college student trying to get a Heisman. Start off in high school, play the games and win the state championship, then you get drafted to your favorite team. You go to practice and gain points, then by the end of the year you’re supposed to be good. Building up characters has always been fun to me.
Sonic The Hedgehog
Everybody played Sonic, man. Who didn’t love playing that and trying to collect all those rings? It was one of the first games out on Sega. My favorite part of that was playing in the casino mode. Casino mode was fire. I hated playing water mode though. That’s probably why I never beat the game.
Super Mario Bros. 3
The first one was cool, but I never beat it in my life. I could never fucking run and jump and hit that pole. Pause. So fuck that game. With Super Mario 3 you become the raccoon [tanooki]. I later figured out that you could jump into the clouds and get all the way to the end of the game. That was my shit.
Fight Night
Some people might not know that Fight Night started out as Knockout Kings. The latest one was pretty dope, because it was the first time they had a storyline behind the game. You can design your own players and you train them to fight. They had this whole story where you get caught up in a murder and go to jail. After getting out, you have to fight your way into getting a title. It was crazy.
Tecmo Bowl
It ranks high in football video games. I’m the kind of person that I’m still gonna get the Raiders and still pick Bo Jackson. That’s damn near cheating I know, but it is what it is. NFL 2K was cool too, but Tecmo Bowl holds a special place to me. It’s a game I used to play with my pops and my brother. It was a different time in my life when I was playing that video game.
Max Payne
This has good graphics with a really good story line. It’s one of the first games that I think really had a real story line I was into. The film was cool, but they had people seeing demons and stuff, which was weird. Other than that it was straight.
Grand Theft Auto
It’s just one of those games where you can get in the car and take off in it. If you’re looking to do some stupid shit in a video game, that’s definitely the game to do it. The car I always pick is the one that looks the most like a Benz. They got another one that looks like a Lamborghini too that’s cool. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was the best one they had to me though. It was reminiscent of Menace II Society. You could also lift weights, get real big, get tattoos and all that.
MLB: The Show
It’s basically the same thing you do with NBA 2K12’s "My Player". MLB: The Show let’s you build a player from the ground up in the Minor League and you make your way to the Pro’s. I played baseball, and I’d never probably play in the professional league, but in this game I’m the shit. I feel like it’s pretty accurate too, because to tell you the truth, it’s not easy to get out of the Minor League. In that game it took me a long time to get out and go major.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare
Just because it’s a first person shooter game. That’s really it. Online is the best way to play these kinds of competitor games. People online talk mad shit. I try not to take it too seriously, and in between making music and it takes my mind off anything else that might be going on. My gamer tag has my name in it, and last year I gave it out on Twitter. There’s probably like a cool hundred people on my Xbox Live that are fans and know they’re playing against me. Sometimes when I drop a mixtape or my album, they give me feedback too. It’s cool. I gotta keep my guard up though and make sure nobody beats me, because then they can go on Twitter saying they beat my ass and I can’t have that.
NBA 2K
I’m not gonna name any particular number, because ever since they’ve been making them, that shit been too cray. As of right now though, NBA 2K12 has been getting the most play as far as I’m concerned. I don’t play basketball, I play baseball, so for me here you get to play with Michael Jordan, Dr. J, Magic Johnson, you get to play with all of them. Then they got this shit called "My Player" where you can create your player from scratch. Normally, he’s kinda wack in the beginning, but you get shoe deals and magazine covers, depending on how good he gets. There's a lot going on.
