A decade ago, Morgan Freeman played world-weary detective Alex Cross in Kiss the Girls and Along Came a Spider. Starting today, Tyler Perry, in his quest to play every role available to black actors in Hollywood, is starring as Cross in the reboot, the cleverly titled Alex Cross (tagline: "Don't Ever Cross Alex Cross." Seriously.) Which begs the question: Why not just cast Perry in every movie franchise led by a black actor? Sorry, Denzel!
