People Are Calling for a Robin Williams Biopic After Clip of Jamie Costa Doing Impression Goes Viral

Jaime Costa recently uploaded a video in which he delivers an impression of the late Robin Williams, and now people want him cast in a biopic.

Jaime Costa uploaded a five-minute video titled “ROBIN Test Footage Scene” on Tuesday where he delivers his impression of the late Robin Williams. A majority of viewers have come away impressed, and wanting more, specifically, a full-length biopic.

The clip starts with Williams running lines before returning to the set of sitcom Mork & Mindy, as his co-star Pam Dawber, played by Sarah Murphee, tries to get his attention. Once Dawber is finally able to wrangle Robin’s ball of energy, she breaks the news to him that John Belushi was found dead.

A flustered Williams asks about Belushi’s cause of death, but Dawber insinuates that he knows more than he’s trying to let on. According to Biography, Williams stopped by his bungalow at the Chateau Marmont in L.A. the night before his death, but left shortly after speaking to Belushi.

Belushi died at the age of 33 from an accidental drug overdose of combining cocaine and heroin, referred to as “speedball.”

Costa’s ability to nail Robin’s boisterous side is one thing, but to do an equally convincing job at playing the quieter moments is what has people calling for him to play Williams in a biopic.

Costa’s impression of Williams caught people’s attention a few years back, but his return with this “test footage scene” may be an attempt to drum up interest, and possibly work his way into getting the part.
