Jack Harlow recently stopped by The Criterion Closet to prove that his taste in movies is as unparalleled as his hat collection.
Harlow starts off by picking up the box set Eric Rohmer’s Six Moral Tales, explaining that the appeal for him is “seeing characters sitting around talking about love.” The Monica artist then gets excited over seeing 12 Angry Men by Sidney Lumet in The Criterion Closet.
“That’s my speed,” Harlow said of 12 Angry Men being a chamber piece, which is a movie that either takes place in a few locations, or sometimes, just one.
Jack would later grab another Lumet film in Fail Safe.
When Harlow picked up the 1963 Federico Fellini film 8 ½, he joked, “This is my life right here,” adding, “The scene where broski is in the crib with all 12 of the women he’s ever dealt with…only dream sequence I’ve ever enjoyed, I’ll tell you that.”
While some could not get past the sight of Harlow in The Criterion Closet, many did gain respect for him, based on his picks.
For those who were unfamiliar with Harlow’s game, you can also take a look at his Letterboxd account where he names Alfred Hitchcock’s Rope, Rear Window, and Dial M for Murder, as well as the aforementioned 12 Angry Men as his favorite films.
And no, Jack did not pick Baby Boy.
