The clip shows various shots of what appears to be Europe, seemingly confirming what FX Networks chairman John Landgraf said about the show’s filming locations for Season 3 during TCA presentations in August. The repeated chant of “It’s after the end of the world, don’t you know that yet?” gets increasingly louder as ominous music plays in the background. The camera slowly zooms in on Alfred “Paper Boi” Miles, played by David Tyree Henry, sitting at the end of a table as two people stare at a wall behind him.

Glover expressed his excitement for Season 3, and called out anyone who thought Atlanta and Dave belong in the same conversation in four since-deleted tweets. “I cant wait til this show is out. i watch the roughs like it aint my show,” he wrote. “And just for the record, im watching yall sayin ‘dave’ is on par. like yall forgot what we did. no disrespect. We got black people on here debating which is better, and IM the sellout? I got receipts.”

While details regarding Season 3 have remained under wraps, anyone who has seen the hit FX series knows Glover is allowed to take the show in whatever direction he pleases. Landgraf acknowledged the network was aiming to have the highly-anticipated upcoming season return for the first half of 2022, with a firm premiere date announced in the coming months.

Landgraf said figuring out a firm release date is complicated by the fact that post-production on Season 3 is running simultaneously with filming for Season 4. Even though Glover signed a multi-year deal with Amazon Studios earlier this year, there’s a reported clause in his contract which allows him to work on additional seasons of Atlanta, if he wants to.
