Content Creator Dies in Plane Crash While Livestreaming in China

The Chinese influencer claimed he mastered the controls of the aircraft in six hours.

An influencer in China died on Saturday when his ultralight aircraft plummeted to the ground while on a livestream.

Footage of the incident shows Tang Feiji taking off and briefly flying the single-seat aircraft before losing control. The aircraft burst into flames upon collision, as reported by the state-run Chinese News Service, per Dexerto.

Feiji was pronounced dead at the scene. He was 55.

According to Cover News, hundreds of viewers witnessed the crash on his livestream.

Feiji had amassed around 100,000 followers on the Chinese short-form video platform Douyin.

CNS reported Feiji spoke about the ultralight aircraft in previous videos, revealing he paid 350,000 Chinese Yuan, or $49,000. Feiji also shared that the aircraft weighed just over 250 pounds, and could go more than 60 MPH, as well as reach nearly 2,000 feet in altitude.

Feiji also claimed he needed only six hours to master the controls of the aircraft.
