A man claimed the Anthropic AI assistant Claude recently helped him recover about $400,000 in Bitcoin from a wallet that he has not been able to access for more than a decade after changing his password while high.

In a post shared on X on Wednesday (May 13), the user, who goes by cprkrn, expressed his gratitude for Anthropic, as well as the company’s co-founder and CEO Dario Amodei, whom he vowed to name his child after.

The user said he has been locked out of the wallet containing 5 Bitcoin, ever since he changed the password while high in college. After trying “like 7 trillion passwords,” he enlisted the help of Claude by uploading files from his college computer.

Claude located an old wallet file prior to the password change that paved the way to recovering the 5 BTC.

The user revealed that the password he could not figure out was “lol420fuckthePOLICE!*:)”

The user also supported a post explaining how Claude did not violate any security measures in order to retrieve the password.
