‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Clip Reveals a Chilling First Look at Rick and His Crew’s Bloody Fate

New York Comic-Con shows sneak peak at new season during 'The Walking Dead' panel discussion.

A chilling first look at The Walking Dead’s season premiere was debuted at the show’s panel discussion at New York Comic-Con on Saturday in Madison Square Garden, and it’s not looking too good for Rick and his gang.

The sneak peek picks up from the season 6 finale, in which Negan is coming down hard on an unknown cast member with his barb-wired bat. Unfortunately, viewers don’t get to see who’s storyline is coming to an end, but it does show epic dialogue between Negan and Rick. “I’m going to kill you,” Rick says, still kneeling before Rick. “Not today, not tomorrow, but I’m gonna kill you.” An amused Negan then requests a hatchet before dragging Rick by the neck to the RV. The door slams before panning to a pool of blood.

For the die-hard fans, that is not a lot to go off of, but there are some thing we’ve learned in the three-minute clip. Obviously, Rick is alive. But Carl, Michonne, Maggie, Glenn, Eugene, Rosita, and Daryl were all with their leader at the time of being ambushed. And judging by the amount of times Negan hit one person from Rick's team, it’s very likely that at least one person is dead. But in the last few seconds of the preview, Negan also seems to suggest that another person may have been badly injured or killed.

As reported earlier in the year, viral photos and a birthday video leaked by Demi Lovato possibly rule out Michonne, Aaron, Glenn, and Eugene has Negan victims. But the show’s writers have been known to steer clear of the comic’s original narrative, so fans will just have to wait and see how this one plays out.

The season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead will be getting a 90-minute slot on Oct. 23, on AMC.
